Where Forgotten Things Go To Be Found

The Ghost Of Her

Sometimes I feel like
I'm living in a dream.
Like what's happening, these people,
Nothing is as it seems.
One day I'll wake up
And things will be as they were.
She'll still be here.
I'll still have her.
The ghosts of the past still haunt me.
The ghosts of the future, they taunt me.
Everything I do,
I do with uncertainty.
But she's always there,
In the back of my mind,
Reminding me of my worth,
Telling me not to be scared.
25 years old,
I still struggle with the pain.
I was only 18 years old
When I lost her that day.
But she's still here.
Every time I close my eyes,
I feel her comfort;
I see her smile.
The ghosts of the past, they haunt me.
The ghosts of the future, they taunt me.
Everything I do,
I do to numb the pain.
I can't bear to feel like this.
I have to make it go away.
But all of a sudden,
She's there
Saying, "Please don't be scared."
The pain melts away.
I give in to the rain.
I close my eyes and it's all okay.

I'll Be

I’ll be there,
Like wind during a storm.
I’ll be there
When trouble starts to form.
I’ll stand with you
Through your darkest nights.
I’ll help you search
To, again, find your light.
I’ll sit beside you
And hold you tight,
As you push on and on
To win your fights.
I won’t give up
And neither will you.
Together we’ll march on.
I’ll help see you through.
Friends don’t let friends
Hurt all alone.
Friends help friends
Battle their demons and face their fears.
Friends help friends
Wipe each other’s tears.
I’ll be your shoulder;
I’ll be your lifeline.
When things get tough,
You’ll be just fine.
Lean on me
When you feel weak.
I’ll stand strong and still
So you can rest your feet.

Do You Feel Like Atlas?

He stood tall,
He stood proud.
He stood strong and fierce,
Like nothing could bring him down.
But life was cruel.
Under pressure, he cracked.
Cursed for all eternity,
To carry the world upon his back.
But he found a spark,
Deep down inside.
And he cried out into the emptiness,
"I will stand up, I will rise!"
Do you feel like Atlas?
When the air outside gets colder,
Is the weight of the world
Upon your shoulders?
Just close your eyes.
You'll be just fine.
Because you'll never falter.
You'll never waiver.
You'll be as strong as the tides of the sea.
You'll be free.
Take pride in who you are.
Make peace within your mind.
Grab hold of the reins of your runaway horse.
This is your time to shine.
Hold tight to the happiness.
Let go of the sadness.
And let your dreams and your worries,
Turn to beautiful madness.
Have you ever felt like Atlas?
When the air got colder,
Did you feel a little bit bolder
With that weight upon your shoulders?
You closed your eyes.
I told you you'd be fine.
You never faltered,
You never wavered.
You're as strong as the tides of the sea,
You are free.
